Responding to a request from local people we organised this meeting in Rosnakill to build the campaign further in the area. 60 people attended a Public Meeting in Rosnakill Community Centre on Wednesday 11th Jan despite the meeting being organised with less than one weeks notice. The meeting was in a defiant mood with a number of speakers calling for more protest action. There is now a good basis to build a strong campaign group in the locality.January - A Month of Protest
We have marked the introduction of the Household Tax on January 1st by
calling a series of public meetings the length and breadth of Donegal
in a month of protest. The aim of the meetings is to inform the public
about the charge, to answer the lies and spin being put out by the
government and to respond to the widespread mood of anger which has
greeted this rip-off.In 2011 we organised meetings in Gweedore, Letterkenny, Falcarragh, Carrickmore, Killybegs, Donegal Town, Newtoncunningham, Ardara, Downings, Carrick and Dungloe. Now we intend to spread the message even wider.
